Exit Music

from S/S Bore by Jeff Vicario

about

Ok, so this song was not originally going to be on this album. In fact, it was not going to be on an album, period. I wrote the music quite a while ago; I think the original - Finnish language - version is from around 2017-2018. Oh yes, the original was also a tango.

About three years ago, in the spring of 2019, I repurposed the song for a different project, one that was only meant to be a blip, a one-off, a throwaway thing called Black Distortion. So, technically, this is a cover version. Of a song I wrote. I changed the title though. Because I can.

I'll shut up now.

lyrics

Tango in the night time
Is the right time
To go home

Although I never told you so
I’ve got to be alone
To belong

It can’t be, it just cannot be real
You’re fucking kidding me
Are you real ?

Fine art or maybe real estate
Promise to deviate
Or delay

Can’t you see
You’ll be the end of me
In the pale yellow moon glow we’ll stroll

On towards the fade out
Exit music will play

I can’t sleep but still I need to dream
The endless sacrifice
For my art

Oh gawd, you’re such a philistine
Stop taking up my time
And go away

Tango is the right time
In the night time
To belong

Cheap booze, is it an excuse
Or just sustenance
Who can say

Can’t you see
You’ll be the end of me
In the pale yellow moon glow we’ll stroll

Empty promises
Fall on deaf ears
No mistakes, no regrets none at all

On towards the fade out
Exit music will play
