about
Well this one was easily the most difficult song to write of them all. The chorus you hear in the final version is the fourth attempt and I am very happy I didn't settle with first three. This is also by far my favourite song on the album even though I don't have a clear idea what it's about. It was written around the time Brexit became reality and maybe there's something about that in the lyrics.
lyrics
Impartial observance
Marginal improvement
Manipulative havens
Oblique references
It all stands to reason
It will become a mess
Approach in stark contrast
To what one might expect
I'm not the enemy
I'm merely a strain of infinity
A light giver
A mirror for long dormant fantasies
I'm not the enemy
I only exist for your proclivities
A care giver
Reflection of unfulfilled destinies
Ingratiating nonsense
Minimal achievement
Intoxicating brain waves
Opaque consciousness
Nothing is confirmed
Concessions under duress
Deadlines come and go
Just as one might expect
I'm not the enemy
I'm merely a strain of infinity
A light giver
A mirror for long dormant fantasies
I'm not the enemy
I only exist for your proclivities
A care giver
Reflection of unfulfilled destinies
